With over 10 years of success the Lincoln Square community at Fork Restaurant, owners David & Paula Byers are now turning their passion to Knife, an intimate interpretation of the modern steakhouse at 4343 N. Lincoln Avenue.
Since opening last year, the team at Knife have worked to become the restaurant that is needed on Chicago’s north side. Part traditional steak house and part neighborhood restaurant, Knife is meeting the needs of local diners that don’t want to go downtown to have a meaningful dining experience.
Knife had maintained it’s close relationships with local farmers by continuing to provide the freshest produce and ever-increasing quality of steaks. Worldly and locally influenced entrees and appetizers shine even brighter now with the attention to detail provided by Chef Larry Tio.
The bar at Knife still provides drinks that are ahead of the trends, but mixologists Anthony Munger and Walter Bezt balk at the price of similar drinks in cocktail bars. The team believes in using sustainably-produced liquors and in making their mixers from produce found at the farmer’s market.

“Such an excellent addition to Lincoln Square! My wife and I absolutely love Knife and highly recommend it for dinner and drinks. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed with an inviting atmosphere and smells from the kitchen that instantly awake your palate. We sat at the bar before dinner and Anthony suggested a few of the signature cocktails. We had the Ellipism and Chrysalism, which were AMAZING! The food complimented the stellar service and ambiance. We started with the Tableside Caesar, which was a performance in itself, and definitely showed in the taste. For entrees, I had the Trio of Medallions with Bleu Cheese Crust and my wife had the Ahi Tuna. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and every bite was delicious. In addition the wide array of unique sauces and sides really adds to the overall experience. Congratulations to Knife and I definitely recommend it to everyone!!!”
